The last couple of months have been a busy time for restaurant openings, closings, and other news.
- Genghis Khan Mongolian Grill is re-opening on March 6th at the original location on 3906 Bell Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
- KC Cajun is closing their restaurant at 3510 E 27th in Kansas City, Missouri. They will be focusing on operating their food truck.
- Gravity is closing in Prairie Village.
- Cardboard Corner Cafe is opening a second location at Lenexa Public Market.
- Dave’s Stagecoach Inn is closing. This has been one of Kansas City’s most famous dive bars. Dave’s might be tied with the late McCoy’s as the bar I’ve spent the most hours in. I have lots of memories of visits to this place. I stopped drinking 7-8 years ago, but I know that Dave’s will be missed by many Kansas Citians.
- Ça Va is closing in March, after it celebrates its tenth anniversary. The owners of the Westport champagne bar say the closing is temporary, but haven’t shared a re-opening date.
- The Mediterranean restaurant, Sidos, is opening a new location in the Iron District in north Kansas City. The eatery has been operating the Parlor food court.
- Don Chuy’s Fresh Mex and Cantina is opening this spring at 8725 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park.
- Bisou is a new bakery and coffee shop at 2122 Jefferson St in Kansas City, Missouri.
- Q39 is opening a new location in Lawrence in October. It will be part of the Press Yards redevelopment at 7th and New Hampshire, site of the former Lawrence Journal-World printing plant.
- Tiki Taco has opened a new location in downtown Overland Park (7514 W 80th St).
- Green Dirt Farm, the Weston-based goat farm, is opening a restaurant in March in the Crossroads District at 16th and Oak Street. The new restaurant is in the footprint of the proposed new stadium for the Kansas City Royals.
- Cozy’s Cafe in Overland Park has closed.
