- Just found out that one of my fave Thai restaurants, Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop, opened a location in downtown Overland Park (7921 Santa Fe Dr.) back in May.
- In other Lulu’s news, The House bar in Westwood (2707 W. 47th Ave.) is opening after remodeling.
- A Missouri chain of bars, International Tap House, is opening a new location this month in Lee’s Summit at 3rd in Main Street.
- Alsuper Mexican Market is opening in 2024 at 10400 Shawnee Mission Pkwy. The concept will be a market and kitchen with food to-go.
- Waldo Thai and Buck Tui are opening a food truck called Sandos Shack that will offer “comfort food with a twist.” It will be serving in the City Market neighborhood.
- The owners of Grand Street Café, Rick & Kristi Ghirdli, recently sold their Plaza location to their general manager. They are opening a new location in Lenexa.
- The Big Biscuit is planing to open a new location in the former Don Chilito’s space at 7017 Johnson Drive.
- The popular Waldo bar, The Well, is closing indefinitely as the building is razed for a new luxury apartment tower. They say they hope to re-open at some point.
- The Mockingbird Lounge in Kansas City, Kansas is closing.
- Billie’s Grocery is opening a new location in November at the Ranchmart shopping center in Leawood (95th and Mission).
- The Drunken Worm on 39th Street in the Volker neighborhood closed on September 11th.
- Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue is considering a new location in north Kansas City.
- Johnny Jo’s Pizzeria is opening a location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
- Country Club Cafe has re-opened as Gallagher’s Coffeehouse at 22742 Midland Dr. in Shawnee, Kansas.
- City Barrel Pizza + Patio is opening in the former Bier Station space in Waldo (120 E Gregory Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64114).
- Mesbob Restaurant has teased a new concept for “The Northland” but hasn’t released any other details.
- The Char Bar has announced official plans that it is opening Char Bar Smoked Meats & Pickleball at 15348 Old Town Drive Parkville, MO 64152. November opening date.
